Grace Tremayne  A visit to Bangalore, India
Day 9 – Back to expectation with a much better day

I got a good night sleep and felt much better. The cold has dried up now, so I am well on the mend. I even made it into the office by 9am, thanks to my driver taking the “back road”, which was a combination of ordinary roads, a fine industrial estate behind the international golf course (this is where IBM, Microsoft, McAfee and the like are located) and then along a deeply rutted dirt road.

The course went much better this afternoon, finishing ahead of schedule instead of behind. I even got to visit the dressmaker (not too much detail as I do not want to ruin the surprise). My team are not convinced that I am being charged correctly, so the lady of the team, Dipti, will be coming with me next time, just to make sure. There appears to be no end to the kindness of this team.

I have had an evening off because one of the top brass is here and we are all out for an evening meal and social. I left the office at 7pm and this is the only time that I have been at my keyboard all evening. So it will be twice as much work at the weekend, but hey who minds?

Back at the apartment, I find that the quality of the towels has improved, not that they were poor beforehand. Obviously the long stayers get the best treatment! One last bonus, after a call to the lady who manages everything, my Indian mobile is working, so I am the founder member of the “Visitors to the SBDU club”.
