| Entry Entry for the 2009-10 Competition is now closed General Members who enter and do not complete their games cause problems and can spoil the competition for others. Here is advanced warning that if you enter the competition and do not complete the games that I ask you to complete, then I reserve the right to refuse you entry in the following year. If a player withdraws from the competition prior to completing his games then all games played will stand and all outstanding games will be defaulted. League Competition The Silver rook this year will have 15 entries. There will be two all-play-all leagues followed by Semi-finals and Final. League Stage (1) Players will get colours as shown below. The playing rate is Fischer Timing 50 minutes each plus 30 sec per move for all moves, unless both players agree an alternative. This stage must be completed by close of evening on Monday 29th March 2010. All results will be eligible for grading. Determining Positions The person with the highest score in each league at the end of the evening of 29 March 2010 will be the winner and the person with the second highest score will be the runner up. There will be no extensions or appeals allowed. If, through having equal scores, two or more players are in contention for either winner or runner up positions then the scores will be recalculated by the removal of the results of all games involving players not in contention for qualification. If this procedure fails to produce single candidates for all semi-final positions then as tournament controller I will agree a suitable method of resolution with the contending players. Semi-Final Matches to be completed by close of play on Monday 24April 2005 Winner League A (W) vs Runner Up League B (B) Winner League B (W) vs Runner Up League A (B) If the game is drawn, please play again with colours reversed and the same time limit (or other time limit that you agree between you). If there is a second draw, then please toss for colours and play 20 minutes plus 30 seconds per move. If this is a draw then reverse colours and play again with the same time limit. Continue reversing colours until there is a winner. Final Match to be completed by the end of the season. Drawn games to be replayed as per semi-final. White will go to the player who has scored more points in the competition to date. If the scores of both players are equal then please toss for colours. Arranging Games & submitting results You are responsible for arranging your own games. Please advise me, by email copied to your opponent, if you are having trouble contacting any opponent. Results should be sent to me, by email, by both players. If I only receive a result from one player then that result will stand. |
